I'm really happy to report that our speaker for our May meeting will be Shawn Wildermuth who will give us a Lap Around Silverlight 3!

If you've never been to one of Shawn's presentations, let me assure you that he is phenomenal. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, he is also a great presenter.

April Meeting on 4/9/09 in Room 106

Time for another Short Session Round-Up!

Want to try your hand at speaking? These 20 minute sessions are a great way to break into speaking. You don't have to be an expert in your topic, just present something you are studying and find interesting. We need at least 2 more speakers, so send me an email at info@ggmug.com with your name and topic.

March Meeting on 3/12/09

3/2/2009 jeffa

March Meeting at 6:30 PM on 3/12/09

This month's topic will be Intro To ASP.Net AJAX with the host of ASP.NET Podcast Wally McClure.

Wally lives in Knoxville, TN, and is the author of a variety of technical books including Beginning AJAX With ASP.NET from Wrox.

Important Note!

Our March meeting will be held in a different room than the one we normally use.

For March we will meet in room 106.

Room 106 is to the right when you come in the MAIN ENTRANCE to building 100. If you normally enter the building through the doors just outside our normal meeting room, remember that for these meetings you should come in the main entrance.

Atlanta Code Camp

The Saturday following our meeting (3/14/09), will be the Atlanta Code Camp. We have talked about this one in the past, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Spend a day listening to some great speakers (including our guest speaker, Wally) talking about a wide range of technical topics. The best part (for us) is that this year it will be held just up 316 at the new Georgia Gwinnett College. Be sure to hit the website and register!

Speaker Idol

At the past meeting we discussed sponsoring a Speaker Idol contest at Code Camp. We now need volunteers to make it happen. Time is short, but many hands make light work, so if you are interested please let me know via the Contact Us page (or send me an email). This would be a great way for us to promote our user group, and I would appreciate any help I can get! We will need at least 5 volunteers to move forward.

Website Update

As many of you know the blogging software we were using last year suffered a catastrophic event on New Year's day, and I plugged in the code I use for my webcomic. It was quick and kept the site running, but man was it plain!

I finally had a weekend I could devote to working on it so be sure to poke around and let me know what you think. You can now register for the site and enter info about yourself that will be visible in our Member Directory (which is only visible if you are logged in).

As time permits I plan to add more features and improve the look further.

See you on the 12th!

I look forward to seeing everyone on the 12th!
